Dr Indrakshi Dey, Head of the Programmable Autonomous Systems Division at Walton Institute in South East Technological University was delighted to represent the Coalesce project in an innovative workshop at the Sustainable Places conference in Luxembourg recently.
The workshop titled ‘Towards Sustainable 6G: Integrating Environmental Considerations in Next-Generation Mobile Networks’ was organised by 6G-TWIN and brought together six other EU-funded projects, including Coalesce, to examine the intersection of sustainability and 6G mobile networks, addressing the pressing need to integrate environmental considerations into future wireless communication systems.
Dr Indrakshi explained: “As we explore the transformative power of 6G, we must also consider the environmental impact and sustainability of future networks. This event, led by 6G-Twin, was the perfect platform to discuss how we can effectively balance technological advancement and ecological responsibility.”
From innovative green network designs to the integration of renewable energy sources in telecom, it’s exciting to collaborate with brilliant minds focused on creating a sustainable, inclusive future for the next generation of mobile networks. Let’s make 6G more than just faster and smarter—let’s make it greener and more responsible for a sustainable tomorrow.
