COALESCE was delighted to welcome project partners to Ireland last week, spending two days at Walton Institute in South East Technological University’s West Campus in Waterford, and two days at Trinity College Dublin.
During their time in Waterford, the team enjoyed productive discussions regarding the exciting progress and future of the project, took part in a productive Grant Writing Workshop, and also had the opportunity to tour Walton Institute’s Digital Photogrammetry Lab, Mixed Reality Lab, eTextiles Lab and Data Centre.
While in Trinity College Dublin, partners explored potential future research opportunities, engaged in a number of informative tutorials on the topics of ‘Traditional versus Novel Optimisation’, ‘Machine Learning for Smart Grid Resilience Enhancement’, and ‘Exploring Lightweight Federated Learning in Energy Networks’. They also took the time to visit the Electronic and Electrical Engineering Department, and CONNECT Research Centre.
